Akysis pulvinatus

Akysis pulvinatus, also known as the Bumblebee Asian Catfish, is a small, nocturnal freshwater species. It is renowned for its striking contrasting bands, reminiscent of a bumblebee's stripes, which serve as a natural camouflage against predators. They are peaceful by nature and do well in community tanks, provided that tank mates are not significantly larger or aggressive. Ideal tank setups include abundant hiding spaces such as caves and hollow decorations to accommodate their shy nature. Gravel or sandy substrates mimic their natural river and stream habitats. Due to their reclusive habits, they are best observed under dim lighting conditions.
