Alestopetersius sp. 1
Congo Tetra, African Tetra
Alestopetersius sp. 1, known commonly as either the Congo Tetra or African Tetra, is a peaceful schooling fish often kept in aquariums for its shimmering colors and active swimming behavior. They enjoy well-planted tanks with ample swimming space and subdued lighting. It's beneficial to keep them in groups of at least six to ensure they feel secure and exhibit natural behaviors. Alestopetersius sp. 1 is generally hardy but appreciates a stable environment free from sudden changes. Regular water changes and a varied diet, including both dry and live or frozen food, will keep them at their best. They are excellent candidates for community tanks with similarly peaceful species.
Distribution
