Apistogramma cacatuoides

The Cockatoo Cichlid is known for its vivid colors and distinctive elongated dorsal fin, which resembles a cockatoo's crest. They are often bred in captivity, and various color morphs have been developed, including double reds and triple reds. When setting up a tank, it's best to provide a biotope setup with plenty of hiding spots using plants, driftwood, and leaf litter. Though they're generally peaceful, care should be taken when housing them with conspecifics or other tank mates to avoid aggressive behavior, especially during breeding.
