Aulonocara sp. stuartgranti maleri
Aulonocara sp. ‘Stuartgranti Maleri’, commonly called the Sunshine Peacock, is a popular species among cichlid enthusiasts due to its vivid coloration. Male fishes exhibit bright yellow or golden hues with shimmering blue highlights during maturity, whereas females tend to display more muted tones. They show territorial behavior, especially during breeding times, suggesting the need for proper structuring in a tank to ease aggression.
These peaceful Cichlids can cohabitate with other cichlid species of similar disposition. However, their water conditions must remain pristine with a strong filtration system due to sensitivity to ammonia and nitrate levels.
Feeding primarily involves a diet of high-quality pellets and occasional supplements of brine shrimp or bloodworms to maintain their vibrant colors.
Use sandy substrates and rocky formations in the tank to provide a natural environment and ample hiding places for the fish.
