Barbus schwanefeldi
Tinfoil Barb, Red-tail Tinfoil Barb
Barbus schwanefeldi, or the Tinfoil Barb, is a popular freshwater fish among aquarists due to its striking appearance and active swimming habits. However, they require very large aquariums due to their potential size and active nature. They are peacefully inclined but may bully smaller, slower fish or consume smaller tank mates. Often used in medium to very large aquariums in public places due to their impressive size and activity level. They thrive best in groups; a single individual might not fare well in solitude.
