Barilius bendelisis
Indian Hill Trout, Rainbow Trout of India
Barilius bendelisis are active swimmers and require plenty of open space mixed with areas of water current to mimic their natural environment. They are peaceful but fast-moving, and thrive in well-oxygenated, clean water. It's essential to provide a covered tank to prevent jumping. Their diet should consist of insect larvae, small crustaceans, and other protein-rich foods to simulate their omnivorous dietary requirements.
