Batasio tigrinus
Batasio tigrinus, known for its distinct tiger-like stripes, is a nocturnal catfish that appreciates a well-decorated tank with plenty of hiding places and subdued lighting. It's relatively peaceful but may show predatory behavior towards smaller tank mates. To simulate its natural habitat, include drifting wood, smooth pebbles, and plenty of plants or leaf litter. Regular water changes are recommended to maintain water quality. Its diet in captivity should consist of a mix of high-quality sinking pellets, live or frozen food such as worms and daphnia. It's advisable to keep this species in a species-only tank or with other fish that share similar environmental needs.
