Boraras naevus

Boraras naevus, or the Strawberry Rasbora, are peaceful and small schooling fish ideal for nano tanks. Their vibrant red coloration is enhanced by maintaining optimal water conditions and a balanced diet. Primarily, they are micro-predators feeding on small invertebrates in the wild. In an aquarium setting, it's beneficial to provide them with a mixed diet comprising high-quality flakes and live or frozen foods. Due to their lively nature, a group of at least 6 individuals is recommended to exhibit natural schooling behavior and reduce stress levels. A densely planted tank with dark substrates will closely mimic their natural habitat, allowing them to thrive. These fish are relatively hardy, making them suitable for seasoned aquarists keen on creating a biotope-inspired setup. Additionally, ensuring proper water filtration while avoiding strong currents will mimic their natural slow-moving water habitat, promoting their flourishing health.
