Bunocephalus coracoideus, commonly known as the Banjo Catfish, is a unique fish often sought after for its peculiar, guitar-like body shape. It is primarily nocturnal and uses its exceptional camouflage to blend with the substrate in the tank. Known for being peaceful, it makes a suitable addition to a community tank, provided tank mates are of similar size and temperament. Crepuscular by nature, it primarily feeds on invertebrates and detritus found along the bottom of its habitat. A calm environment with plenty of hiding spots using driftwood, cave structures, and leaf litter is preferred to mimic their natural settings. Regular substrate vacuuming is recommended to keep their environment clean, ensuring a healthy fish.
