- Campylomormyrus alces is known for its distinctive snout, which it uses to forage for food. - These fish are known for their weak electric fields which they use for navigation and communication in murky waters. - They tend to be nocturnal and may require subdued lighting conditions in captivity. - Although generally peaceful, they may exhibit territorial behaviors, particularly in relation to other Mormyrids.
