Chalceus erythrurus
Tailspot tetra, Rainbow tetra
Chalceus erythrurus is known for its shimmering silver body, red caudal fin, and active swimming behavior. They are generally peaceful but can be territorial; it is advisable to keep them in groups to curb aggression. As active swimmers, they need ample space, and thus a long tank is recommended. Covering the tank is essential as they are known jumpers. Additionally, they thrive in loosely planted aquariums with driftwood and rocks that mimic their natural habitat.
