Chitala blanci is a nocturnal predator and is best kept in large tanks due to its eventual size and active swimming behavior. Its primary diet consists of live prey, though in captivity, it can be conditioned to accept frozen foods. Due to their size and temperamental nature, they are often best kept in species-specific tanks or with similarly sized, non-aggressive fish. Provide plenty of hiding spots and ensure smooth tank décor as their delicate skin can be prone to injury.
