Corydoras barbatus

Corydoras barbatus is a peaceful bottom-dwelling species with a stunning appearance, especially the males which develop large barbels and ornate patterns. They are social fish and should be kept in groups of at least six to display natural behavior. Their bony armature and protective scales make them resilient but delicate during acclimation. They require a tank that has a soft substrate to prevent injury to their delicate barbels and provide plenty of hiding spaces using plants, driftwood, and rocks. These fish can be shy and appreciate subdued lighting.
