Corydoras hastatus is a peaceful and social fish, best kept in groups of six or more. They are known for their shoaling behavior and spend much of their time mid-water or near the substrate. They are ideal for community tanks with small, non-aggressive species. A well-planted tank with open swimming space and soft, sandy substrate mimics their natural habitat.
