Marble Tongue Sole, Marble Tonguefish, Sand Sole
Cynoglossus marble, commonly referred to as the Marble Tongue Sole, is a species that prefers sandy or muddy substrates in the lower reaches of tidal rivers and estuaries. Their flat body allows them to camouflage well with the substrate. They play a vital role in coastal ecosystems but are vulnerable to habitat destruction and water pollution.
