Dawkinsia filamentosa is a visually striking freshwater fish known for its long, filament-like extensions on its dorsal fin. They are peaceful and active, making them ideal for community aquariums. However, they feature a tendency to jump, and a tight-fitting lid is recommended. They form shoals, so keeping them in groups of at least 6-8 is advised to prevent stress and showcase their natural schooling behavior. As an omnivorous species, their diet should include a variety of foods, including high-quality flakes, frozen or live foods, and occasional plant matter.
