Dimidiochromis compressiceps is renowned for its elongated and compressed body structure, ideal for its ambushing hunting style in the wild. The fish can grow up to 25 cm in length and is appreciated both for its unique appearance and interesting behavior, including its tendency to remain motionless near prey before making rapid strikes. Due to its size and territory needs, a tank of at least 400 liters is recommended for a single adult, with ample swimming space and territories. Social behavior: Generally considered semi-aggressive, it is advisable to house them with similar-sized, non-aggressive fish in a community setup. Avoid keeping with smaller fish as they may be mistaken for prey. Diet: Dimidiochromis compressiceps are carnivores and typically consume small fish in the wild. In aquariums, a balanced diet of quality pellets, live foods like shrimp or small fish, and occasional greens are recommended.
