Eigenmannia lineata

Eigenmannia lineata, commonly known as the Glass Knifefish, is an elongated freshwater fish known for its clear body and banded markings that give it a unique appearance. It is nocturnal and prefers subdued lighting in the aquarium. These species produce weak electric fields to navigate and communicate. Given their size and active swimming behavior, they require ample space. The Glass Knifefish is generally peaceful, but should be kept with similarly sized fish to avoid predation.
