Epiplatys sexfasciatus is a popular species among killifish enthusiasts due to its striking vertical bands and ease of care. They are generally peaceful but might exhibit territorial behavior during breeding. Best kept in a species-only tank or with other small, non-aggressive fish. A well-planted setup with subdued lighting and ample hiding spots, such as floating plants and driftwood, enhances their living conditions. They are carnivorous by nature and thrive on a varied diet, including live and frozen foods, such as daphnia and mosquito larvae.
