Hassar affinis

Hassar affinis, part of the family Doradidae, is noted for the bony plates that cover its body, giving it an armored appearance. It is a peaceful bottom-dweller that thrives in well-established community aquariums with plenty of hiding spots and subdued lighting. Due to its nocturnal nature, providing a cave or dense vegetation as shelter is recommended. It is primarily detritivorous, feeding on decaying matter and should be supplemented with sinking pellets and live or frozen foods like bloodworms.
