Hemigrammus rodwayi

Hemigrammus rodwayi, commonly known as the Gold Tetra or Copper Tetra, is a small, peaceful schooling fish widely appreciated in the aquarium trade for its metallic, reflective appearance. They exhibit a golden body with subtle hints of copper. To best simulate their natural environment, a planted tank with driftwood and subdued lighting is recommended. Due to their social nature, they should be kept in groups of at least six, though larger schools are ideal. They typically occupy the middle stratum of an aquarium. A diet of quality flake foods supplemented with live or frozen foods such as bloodworms, daphnia, or brine shrimp will ensure optimal health and color vibrancy. Regular water changes are necessary to maintain water quality, particularly in well-stocked tanks.
