Hyalobagrus flavus is a small, peaceful, and schooling fish, ideal for community tanks with other non-aggressive species. They appreciate a well-planted tank with dim lighting, simulating their natural environment. It's best to keep them in groups of five or more to reduce stress and ensure natural behavior. When setting up their tank, include floating plants and driftwood to create shaded areas, which they enjoy. Avoid keeping with larger or aggressive species which could intimidate or harm the Hyalobagrus flavus. Diet should consist of small, live, frozen, or freeze-dried foods, like daphnia, brine shrimp, and finely crushed flakes or micropellets.
