Hypancistrus contradens

The Hypancistrus contradens, or Polka Dot Pleco, is a popular choice among aquarists for its distinctive spotted appearance and peaceful demeanor. Despite its relatively modest size, the species exhibits territorial behavior and should have sufficient hiding spots scattered throughout the aquarium. They are nocturnal and primarily carnivorous, and can be fed a diet of protein-rich pellets and occasional treats of live or frozen foods like bloodworms or brine shrimp.
