The Amapá tetra is a peaceful and active schooling fish, best kept in groups of six or more to encourage natural behavior. It requires a well-planted tank with open swimming spaces and can be housed with similarly-sized non-aggressive fish. It is not demanding regarding diet and will accept a variety of flake, frozen, and live foods. Regular water changes and good filtration are essential to maintain water quality.
