Hyphessobrycon brumado
Black Neon Tetra, Brumado Tetra
The Hyphessobrycon brumado, commonly known as Black Neon Tetra or Brumado Tetra, is favoured by aquarists for its contrasting black and white bands. A peaceful species, it is best maintained in schools of at least six to thrive and exhibit natural behaviours. Community tanks with other small, non-aggressive species are ideal. They flourish in tanks with plenty of plants, providing both hiding spaces and mimicking natural environments.
Diet should consist of high-quality flake food, small live or frozen foods, such as brine shrimp and daphnia. Regular water changes are crucial to maintaining water quality.
