Hyphessobrycon metae are peaceful, schooling fish that do well in community tanks with similarly sized species. They prefer a well-planted aquarium that mimics their natural habitat, with dim lighting and plenty of swimming space. Use darker substrate to enhance their colors. They are omnivorous and should be fed a varied diet of high-quality flake food, small live or frozen food such as brine shrimp and daphnia.
