Hyporhamphus quoyi

Hyporhamphus quoyi is known for its distinctive elongated jaw, giving it the common name 'halfbeak'. These fish are generally peaceful, making them suitable candidates for a mixed-species brackish setup. However, due to their active nature, adequate swimming space and a tight-fitting lid (to prevent jumping) are recommended. They are surface feeders, primarily dining on small insects and crustaceans.
