Julidochromis dickfeldi
Dickfeld's Julie
Julidochromis dickfeldi are small, elongated cichlids with striking striped patterns, making them a visually appealing addition to freshwater aquariums. They exhibit complex behaviors such as brooding and territory establishment, requiring specific aquascaping with rocks and caves for hiding and breeding purposes. Often aggressive towards conspecifics when breeding, it's recommended to house them with other Tanganyikan species with similar temperament. Frequent, small feedings are ideal, consisting of high-quality cichlid pellets, frozen or live foods.
