L 232
Peckoltia sp. L232
L 232, often referred to simply as the Snowball Pleco due to their distinctive white spots, is a peaceful and reclusive freshwater species. They are primarily nocturnal and enjoy hiding among driftwood, rock caves, and aquatic plants. It's recommended to provide them with a well-structured environment to mimic their natural habitat. Regular water changes are essential to maintain optimal water quality and to mimic their fast-flowing natural environment. They are generally peaceful but can exhibit territorial behavior, especially towards their own species. Additionally, being loricariids, they benefit from a diet rich in vegetables and protein sources. Supplementary feed that includes spirulina, algae wafers, and occasional live or frozen foods like bloodworms is beneficial. While they are known to clean tanks of some algae, they are not as efficient as other Pleco varieties for algae control.
