Lepidocephalichthys jonklaasi, also known as the Spotted Loach, is a peaceful and social species that prefers residing in groups. It is a bottom-dweller that enjoys a sandy substrate with plenty of vegetation and hiding spots. This loach is known for its spots and streamlined body, making it a unique and attractive addition to community tanks. Regular water changes and a well-cycled tank are vital for their well-being. Being omnivorous, they require a balanced diet ranging from live foods to high-quality flakes and sinking pellets. They are generally nocturnal and will be more active during the evening and night hours.
