Lepidocephalus macrochir, also known as the Long-finned Loach, is characterized by its elongated body and notable long fins, which contribute to its graceful swimming pattern. It is typically found in slower-flowing parts of streams and rivers where it thrives amidst softly sedimented substrates. When kept in aquariums, provide ample hiding spaces and a sand or fine gravel substrate to mimic its natural habitat. It's a congenial species that can be kept in community tanks but should be housed with similarly sized, non-aggressive species. They are bottom dwellers and help in cleaning the substrate by scavenging leftover food.
