Leporacanthicus heterodon, commonly known as the Tooth-Nose Pleco, is a striking pleco species known for its unique 'vampire' appendage, providing it with a unique appearance. In the wild, it is known to inhabit rocky areas and is an expert scavenger, feeding on various biofilms and meaty foods. Often used in community aquariums due to its relatively peaceful nature, with its active scavenging helping to keep algae levels in check. However, it's nocturnal, so feeding during evening hours is preferred. Ensure adequate hiding spaces like caves or hollow decorations to mimic its natural habitat. Water changes are vital as pristine water conditions are preferred.
