Nandus nebulosus
Leaf Fish, Indian Leaf Fish, Ganges Leaf Fish
Nandus nebulosus is known for its unique ability to mimic leaves and debris, which helps it ambush prey with successful stealth. It has a preference for heavily planted aquariums with ample hiding spots. The tank substrate should allow for a natural look, using sand or fine gravel. The fish's dietary needs include live or frozen foods such as bloodworms, brine shrimp, or small fish, due to its carnivorous nature. Care should be taken in community tanks as it can be aggressive towards smaller species. However, it cohabits harmoniously with other similarly sized, non-aggressive fish.
