Nannostomus mortenthaleri, or the Coral Red Pencilfish, is a striking freshwater species known for its vibrant red coloring. This species is an excellent choice for experienced aquarists, given its preference for specific water conditions and balanced diet. The fish is peaceful, making it a good tank mate for other similarly sized, non-aggressive species in a community aquarium. Provide plenty of hiding spots and plants to mimic its natural habitat and create a mix of open swimming spaces and dense vegetation.
