Nannostomus trifasciatus is a peaceful, schooling species ideally kept in groups of six or more. They require a well-planted aquarium with subdued lighting, as they inhabit areas with dense vegetation in the wild. Preferring a calm demeanor, these fish are exemplary for community tanks with similarly sized, non-aggressive species. Due to their timid nature, it's vital to provide plenty of hiding places and room to swim.
