Nemacheilus binotatus, or the Two-Spot Loach, is known for its peaceful nature which makes it a suitable companion in a community tank, provided that the other fish are not overly aggressive or territorial. They thrive in setups that mimic their natural habitat with ample hiding spaces such as rocks, driftwood, and dense planting. This species enjoys rummaging through substrate, so soft sand or rounded gravel is recommended. Being a benthic feeder, they often explore lower depths of the aquarium in search of food.
