Otocinclus affinis

Otocinclus affinis are widely sought after in aquariums for their algae-eating abilities. They are peaceful creatures, usually best kept in groups to thrive and exhibit natural behavior. Their small size makes them suitable for smaller tanks, but the presence of cover and hiding places is essential for their well-being. A heavily planted aquarium with stable water quality is ideal. Otos are sensitive to changes in water parameters and require excellent filtration and regular maintenance. They may also be susceptible to starvation if algae supplies dwindle, so supplemental feeding with blanched vegetables is advisable.
