Pao suvattii are shy, territorial fish that require plenty of hiding spots and a tank layout that mirrors riverbed conditions. Ideal tankmates must be carefully chosen due to their aggressive nature, especially their tendency to nip at fins. Feeding should consist of crustaceans and shellfish to aid in beak health and prevent overgrowth. Regular monitoring of water parameters and a secure tank cover are essential.
