Paracanthocobitis pictilis, or Painted Loaches, are peaceful, shoaling fish known for their vibrant coloration and distinctive patterns. They are active bottom-dwellers and enjoy burrowing in substrates. It's advisable to use sand or smooth gravel substrate to replicate their natural habitat. Maintaining good water quality in a well-filtered aquarium with moderate flow is essential. These loaches are excellent at cohabiting in community tanks with other peaceful species. Their dietary requirements can be met with a balanced combination of sinking pellets, live, and frozen foods.
