Parambassis ranga, commonly known as the Indian Glassy Fish, possess a semi-transparent body, making them quite unique and sought after in the aquarium trade. They are peaceful schooling fish and do best in groups of 6 or more. Due to their timid nature, they should not be housed with aggressive species. While they are omnivorous, a varied diet of small live or frozen food helps keep them healthy. Breeding in captivity can be challenging but not impossible with attention to water conditions and temperature.
