Parotocinclus maculicauda are peaceful, social fish that do well in groups of 4 or more. They are excellent algae eaters, making them popular in planted aquariums. They should be provided with plenty of hiding spots and a varied diet for optimal health. These fish are active but spend significant time hiding among plants or decor.
