Pethia nigrofasciata

Pethia nigrofasciata, or Black Ruby Barb, is known for its striking appearance, especially during the breeding season when males exhibit intense ruby red coloration. These fish are highly social and should be kept in groups of no fewer than six to prevent stress and promote natural behavior. They are active, peaceful fish ideally suited to community aquariums with appropriate tank mates. A well-planted aquarium with open swimming spaces is highly recommended.
