Phenagoniates macrolepis, commonly known as the Starry tetra, is a small, peaceful species suited for community tanks that mimic its natural habitat. It is a shoaling fish that should ideally be kept in groups of six or more to foster natural behavior and reduce stress. A well-planted tank with ample swimming space is recommended. Avoid housing with overly aggressive species.
