Pseudotropheus flavus is a vibrant, hardy Mbuna cichlid renowned for its striking yellow and black colors. They thrive in well-structured rocky aquariums, imitating their natural habitat. They are territorial, thus creating multiple hiding and breeding spots is recommended to ensure peaceful coexistence with other similar Malawi cichlids. A varied diet consisting of quality herbivorous pellets, vegetables, and occasional protein helps maintain both their vibrant coloration and health. Regular small water changes and good filtration help maintain water quality. Breeding involves mouthbrooding, where females carry the fertilized eggs in their mouth until they hatch.
