Pyrrhulina brevis is a peaceful shoaling species ideal for community tanks. They prefer densely planted tanks and can be skittish without ample hiding places or shade. Often confused with other Pyrrhulina species, it's vital to ensure accurate identification when purchasing. Breeding in captivity is rare, with little recorded data available. Ideal companions include small, non-aggressive fish such as tetras, rasboras, and dwarf cichlids.
