Syncrossus beauforti
Beaufort's Loach, Horseface Loach
Syncrossus beauforti, also known as Beaufort's Loach, is known for its elongated body and dynamic behavior. Due to their energetic nature, these loaches require ample swimming space and a tank setup that mimics the freshwater rivers of Southeast Asia, with adequate hiding spots. They are considered semi-aggressive and may not be suitable for community tanks with smaller or very timid fish. Regular water changes and a well-maintained filtration system are critical to ensure their wellbeing.
