Synodontis alberti

Synodontis alberti is a unique freshwater species recognized for swimming upside-down, a trait that aids it in reaching food on the water surface. They're hardy and adaptable to various water conditions but thrive best in well-oxygenated water with plenty of hiding spaces like caves and plants. Ideal tank mates include other non-aggressive fish of similar size. This species is primarily nocturnal and may exhibit territorial behavior, thus ample tank space is recommended. Diet consists mainly of insect larvae, smaller crustaceans, and some vegetative matter. In aquariums, they accept a variety of foods including pellets, frozen, and live foods.
