Aphyosemion bivittatum
Two-Stripe Killifish, Bivittatum Killifish, Boghe Mountain Killifish
Aphyosemion bivittatum is a vibrant and peaceful killifish ideal for community tanks. They are known for their vivid coloration, particularly the blue-green body with striking red and black horizontal stripes. They are also noted for their elongated fins. These fish are relatively easy to breed but require specific soft water conditions for successful spawning. Live and frozen foods like brine shrimp, daphnias, and tubifex worms make up a critical part of their diet. These killifish are generally non-aggressive, making them suitable for tanks with other small, non-aggressive species. Care should be taken to cover the tank well as they are known jumpers.
