Badis ruber

Badis ruber is a small but striking fish, displaying a brilliant red color with vibrant blue accents, especially vivid during breeding. They are known for their peaceful temperament but can display territorial behavior during breeding periods. They're carnivorous and require a diet rich in live or frozen foods. If housing multiple males, ensure ample swimming space and plenty of hiding spots using rocks and plants to avoid aggression. A well-planted aquarium imitates its natural environment and mitigates aggression. This species is an excellent choice for a community tank with similarly tempered fish. However, compatibility should be monitored carefully as their fin-nipping tendencies can sometimes surface among slower-moving tank mates.
