Bagarius suchus
Goonch Catfish
Due to its large size and predatory nature, Bagarius suchus is best housed in species-specific aquariums or extremely large tanks. They have an enormous appetite and require a diet consisting of protein-rich foods such as fish fillets, prawns, and earthworms. This species prefers a tank with a strong current, mimicking its natural habitat in fast-flowing rivers. Rock formations and hiding spots are essential for stress reduction. Regular and large water changes are necessary to maintain water quality. Exercise caution as they are aggressive and should not be housed with smaller fish.
